It's hard to believe that's it's already been a week since we brought home our new little one, Daniel. He's been a great addition to our family.
We scheduled a c-section for the morning of October 3rd at 7am. We scheduled it because the little one wasn't so little and I had a previous c-section for Rob. The night before, we stayed in Vernal and Carson took Rob swimming at the hotel. It wore him out and he slept well in-between us. He was still asleep when we had to leave at 6:30am. Grandma was there to stay with Rob. Daniel was born at 9:22am weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days. Just 2 days before Daniel was born, the hospital shut down the nursery to anyone under the age of 14. It made it difficult to introduce Daniel and Rob. You can't do it very well through the glass outside the nursery. But Rob had a good time with Grandma while we were away. Before we left though, our pediatrician strongly reccomended that we stay home and keep Daniel away from other children for 2 months because of flu season. We all had the flu shot before Daniel was born and we are now on the top of the list for the H1N1 flu shot. Oh ya, let's not forget it's also RSV season too. It's been difficult keep Rob entertained with the temps dropping outside, also. Movies and shows dvr'd are my friends.
The first couple days home were difficult, mostly for me, I guess. The lack of sleep and my efforts to breastfeed were draining. Daniel has been sleeping better lately so I've been a happy camper. Rob has shown how much he loves is little brother by wanting to be near him and giving multiple hugs. We have to pull him away at times. It's been great having Carson home this past week and now this week too. He's been busy redesigning our kitchen, he's picking me up a dishwasher on Wednesday, love him!
